The Catholic Craft Corner: Easter Activities

Easter is a major celebration for Catholics as we celebrate that Jesus conquered death and thus won us eternal life. This is the foundation of our faith and that's why we should celebrate it in a big way.

We must be clear with our children that Easter begins on Easter Sunday but extends for 50 days, which is why we must be joyful during these days. It doesn't mean that we don't have problems or setbacks, but that we face them with joy and a positive attitude to bear witness to what Christ has done for us. No problem is bigger than death and Jesus overcame it, so He can help us in any circumstance, if we are willing to receive His help. Let us live an Easter with optimism, Hope, Faith, and Charity.

As we plan with our family to celebrate Easter, we might find it necessary to explain to our children what Easter is and help them to make sure that they live it with a good attitude. Something that can help this process is through simple activities and crafts that allow us to live it together and live it intensely.

This plan can contain activities such as Bible readings, drawings, board games, visits to the church, museums, parks, family lunches or dinners and activities aimed at sharing this joy with others such as visits to a nursing home, orphanage, foster home, parish dining room, etc. The idea is to share with charity, what God gives us with generosity.

The crafts attached to this article can be shared with students or children to help them understand the true celebration of Easter and express how thankful they are to Jesus for their blessings. The materials needed will be colors, scissors, and a paper brad.

But remember, the center of the celebration must always be the risen Jesus. Try not to let the celebration stay on the surface. In addition to the exterior, it is necessary that there be a feast within us, that is, that we seek to maintain ourselves in a constant state of grace, avoiding faults and committing sins that distance us from Jesus in this great feast.

It is important that our attitude is also consistent with what we are experiencing. That's why we can't live fighting, getting angry at everyone, grumbling about what is asked of us, etc.

It would be very good if we could do everything with love and joy, putting everything that is of us so that things go well, and if they don't, putting a smile and offering it to God in gratitude for what He has done for us.

El Rincón Católico de la Artesanía: Actividades de Pascua

La Pascua es una celebración importante para los católicos, ya que celebramos que Jesús conquistó la muerte y así nos ganó la vida eterna. Este es el fundamento de nuestra fe y es por eso por lo que debemos celebrarlo a lo grande.

Debemos tener claro con nuestros hijos que la Pascua comienza el Domingo de Resurrección, pero se extiende por 50 días, por lo que debemos estar alegres durante estos días. No significa que no tengamos problemas o contratiempos, sino que los afrontamos con alegría y una actitud positiva para dar testimonio de lo que Cristo ha hecho por nosotros. Ningún problema es más grande que la muerte y Jesús la venció, por lo que Él puede ayudarnos en cualquier circunstancia, si estamos dispuestos a recibir Su ayuda. Vivamos una Pascua con optimismo, esperanza, fe y caridad.

Al planificar con nuestra familia la celebración de la Pascua, es posible que nos parezca necesario explicar a nuestros hijos qué es la Pascua y ayudarles a que la vivan con una buena actitud. Algo que puede ayudar a este proceso es a través de actividades sencillas y manualidades que nos permitan vivirlo juntos y vivirlo intensamente.

Este plan puede contener actividades como lecturas bíblicas, dibujos, juegos de mesa, visitas a la iglesia, museos, parques, comidas o cenas familiares y actividades destinadas a compartir esta alegría con los demás como visitas a un asilo de ancianos, orfanato, casa de acogida, comedor parroquial, etc. La idea es compartir con caridad, lo que Dios nos da con generosidad.

Las manualidades adjuntas a este artículo se pueden compartir con estudiantes o niños para ayudarlos a comprender la verdadera celebración de la Pascua y expresar lo agradecidos que están con Jesús por sus bendiciones. Los materiales necesarios serán colores, tijeras y un sujetador metálico o pasador partido.

Pero recuerda, el centro de la celebración siempre debe ser Jesús resucitado. Trata de no dejar que la celebración se quede en la superficie. Además de lo exterior, es necesario que haya una fiesta dentro de nosotros, es decir, que busquemos mantenernos en un constante estado de gracia, evitando faltas y cometiendo pecados que nos alejen de Jesús en esta gran fiesta.

Es importante que nuestra actitud también sea coherente con lo que estamos viviendo. Por eso no podemos vivir peleando, enfadándonos con todo el mundo, quejándonos de lo que se nos pide, etc.

Sería muy bueno que pudiéramos hacer todo con amor y alegría, poniendo todo lo que es de nosotros para que las cosas salgan bien, y si no lo hacen, poniendo una sonrisa y ofreciéndola a Dios en agradecimiento por lo que ha hecho por nosotros.
