Business Manager (Full-Time)

Annual Salary Range:  $58,000 to $68,000 (Depending on Qualifications)

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno, Saint Anthony Retreat Center/Santa Teresita Youth Center, is recruiting for the position of Business Manager.  This position is assigned to facilities located in Three Rivers, California, west of Visalia, California, near the Sequoia National Park, and provides business, operations, and administrative support to the Retreat Centers’ facilities/programs, offering individual and/or group meeting space, dining and overnight accommodations.  Both the adult and youth facilities are oriented to both religious and secular retreats/conferences.

The incumbent will work under general direction from the Retreat Center’s Executive Director and in concert with Diocesan policies and procedures, and Pastoral Center staff, including the Vicar General, Chief Financial Offer, Controller, and Director of Human Resources.  The Business Manager is considered part of the Executive Director’s management team and is expected to function in a collaborative, professional manner.

The general job duties and responsibilities associated with this position include managing and supervising administrative support, business, fiscal and operational functions of both the adult and youth facilities.  The incumbent will manage and supervise all business functions/staff including budget preparation, analysis, and control; purchasing; human resources; payroll; and collection and accounting of fees/monies.  In addition, the incumbent will manage and supervise all accounting and bookkeeping functions/staff, including financial statements and reports, budget status reports and adjustments; maintenance of accounting records; and accounts payable and receivable; monitoring revenues; and preparation of claims for payments/reimbursements.  This position is also responsible for managing and supervising facility operations including Food Services, Housekeeping, and Grounds and Maintenance.

In order to succeed in this position, the incumbent must possess strong organizational and business/management experience, preferably managing similar retreat or conference center facilities, including lodging accommodations and food services.  More importantly, the incumbent must recognize and accept that the job duties and responsibilities associated with this position are in fact a form of ministry and though oriented toward business/fiscal matters, serve as the basis for ministering to all those individuals utilizing the services of the Retreat Center.  To that end, the individual selected for this position must be a practicing Catholic in good standing and who is living within the teachings of the Catholic Church.  Other necessary characteristics include active loyalty, close working relationship with the Executive Director, Chancery and Pastoral Center department heads; strong supervisorial skills, abilities and knowledge; effective oral and written communication skills and abilities; ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all organizational and Diocesan levels, with the Retreat Center management team, employees, volunteers, religious and secular organizations/groups, priests of the Diocese and with other religious assigned throughout the Diocese accessing the Retreat Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business or Fiscal Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Three years full-time, paid work experience of a managerial, administrative, or supervisory nature in budgetary analysis and control, accounting, or business management.  Experience administering or managing a conference or retreat center facility including lodging accommodations and food services is desirable.
License:
Possession of a valid California Class “C” Driver License.

Webmaster (Full-Time)

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno is recruiting for the position of Webmaster.  This single, position classification is assigned to the Pastoral Center, Communications Department and reports to the Chancellor on a day-to-day basis.  The incumbent of this position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and managing the Diocese of Fresno’s Internet Web site to ensure that the Web site functions properly and efficiently, is up to date, and can be accessed quickly by as many users as possible.  The incumbent will also provide training, support and development services to other web sites associated with the Diocese of Fresno.

The Webmaster performs a variety of technical tasks to ensure that the Diocesan Internet Web site operates properly and can be accessed quickly by as many users as possible.  Although the Webmaster is expected to assume a role in web design, the focus of this position is to monitor, maintain, improve, and update the existing Diocesan Internet Web site, on a day-to-day basis.  Nevertheless, the incumbent of this position is considered the technical architect of the Diocesan Internet Web site and must be adept at scripting, database design, and user interface design and is expected to evaluate and present Internet Web site opportunities and limitations.  In addition, the incumbent must also be experienced and versed in the various forms of social media communication and its emerging technologies.

The incumbent of this position must possess strong technical skills including relevant work experience in one or more of the following platforms: Microsoft, Java, or Open Source and their corresponding programming languages (The Diocese’s current web site is built using a Content Management System.  Familiarity with this system is highly desirable.); knowledge of the Unix operating systems; familiarity with Internet applications such as HTML, HTTP, and XML; extensive work experience with the World Wide Web and its related computer applications; and must stay current and abreast of new Internet technology, understanding how to implement new technology, and know which technologies will enhance the Diocese’s Internet Web site.  In addition, the incumbent must possess effective oral and written communication skills and abilities, and must be able to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all diocesan levels.

Production Supervisor (Full-Time)

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno, KNXT Channel 49/38 is recruiting for the position of Production Supervisor.  This position is responsible for supervising the technical production of all media initiated by and generated through the Diocese’s Catholic television stations, including all supervison of all studio and offsite location productions.  The incumbent reports to, and works under the general direction of the General Manager and assists with the day-to-day supervison and management of all television productions.  The incumbent is responsible for supervison of a television production staff, interns and volunteers.  Supervisory duties and responsibilities include the interviewing, hiring, developing/training, evaluating and disciplining of subordinate employees.

The Production Supervisor performs a variety of technical and supervisory tasks to ensure that all Diocesan television productions are developed and implemented in the most technically sound, cost effective, and cost efficient fashion.  In addition to overseeing all studio and location productions and staff, the Production Supervisor also directs all pre-production activities including openings, closings, video inserts, graphics, promotions and public service announcements.
