Supports the implementation of the Charter for the Protection of Children
and Young People by:
• providing "Safe Environment" training and resources to
promote Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention through education for employees,
volunteers, parents, youth and children.
• providing educational resources that focus on all four areas of abuse including: physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and neglect.
• implementing and coordinating various policies and procedures mandated within the Diocese of Fresno to create Safe Environments in all areas of parish ministry where minors are present.
• provide material for annual review of Suspected Child Abuse Reporting Procedures.
• collaborate with Pastors, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Parish Staff and Parish Safe Environment Coordinators.
• monitor compliance of safe environment policies and provide status reports to the Bishop and Vicar Ge neral under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources.
